This web page contains a brief description of some of the issues that might arise at the cottage, and a list of telephone numbers that might be useful for those staying at the lake.
This listing is divided into two main areas - services, and people. I have used a simple table interface for this. You can see the two sets, the services and the people by pressing on the appropriate links. I have included some additional information about some entries where that seems appropriate.
The information in this document is preliminary in nature, and while it may be generally accurate, no claims are made as to the accuracy or usefulness of the current content. With time, and experience, this will be improved it is hoped, but a definite time frame for that is not possible to forecast at the current time. In addition, this page was generated using Markdown, and a proprietary translation into HMTL, and that may prove to be too cumbersome a mechanism for the future.
The cottage has power running to both the main cabin, and the little cabin by the lake. The water pump is several hundred feet out in the lake, and the pressurized tank with the first available water is in the basement of the main cottage. There is a small gas powered generator which we keep stored in the shed near the driveway into the cottage area which will supply enough power to keep the two fridges going (one in the kitchen and one in the back porch) as well as supply a few lights. This generator is a four stroke engine and should be run with straight gas (no oil mixed in) although, in a pinch, the 100:1 fuel for the small Yamaha engine in the fishing boat will work.
The electrical panel for the cottage is in the basement as well, and has circuit breakers, not fuses. The small cabin, on the other hand, has a small panel that does require fuses.
Most of the tools and equipment for repairs and maintenance around the cottage is stored in the shed. There is a small set of tools in the main cabin in a labelled plastic box in the pantry area behind the kitchen.
